- 1 large head of cauliflower (about 1 kg), cut into florets
- neutral oil
- 5 cm piece of ginger, peeled and finely chopped
- 3 teentje garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 1 long green chilli, finely chopped
- 1 celery stalk, finely chopped
- 1/2 red or green capsicum, finely chopped
- 4 green onions (shallots), white and green parts separated and finely chopped
- 1 el soy sauce or tamari
- 1 el tomato ketchup
- 1 tl apple cider vinegar or rice vinegar
- 1/2 tl ground white pepper
- sea salt
- rice, noodles or roti, to serve

- 150 g rice flour or plain flour
- 60 g cornflour
- 1/2 tl chilli powder
- black pepper
- 250 ml vegetable stock or water
- 1 tl soy sauce or tamari
