- 500 g kale
- 1000 g potatoes
- 250 g lardons
- 1 smoked sausage (rookworst)
- 30 g butter
- 100 ml milk
- 30 ml onion powder
- 75 ml white vinegar
- 5 ml nutmeg
- salt
- pepper
- gravy
- whole grain mustard
- 1Peel the potatoes, rinse them, and cut into 4-6 smaller pieces depending on the size. Bake the lardons in a pan until crispy.
- 2Put the kale in salted boiling water and boil for about 10 minutes.
- 3Add the potatoes on top of the kale and boil for another 15-20 minutes. Use a fork to check if the potatoes are cooked; they should fall apart easily.
- 4Drain the pan, but save some of the cooking water for later.
- 5Mash the kale and potatoes together. Add the lardons, butter, vinegar, and warm milk. For a smoother consistency, add some of the reserved cooking water.
- 6When the desired consistency is reached, add the onion powder, nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
- 7Serve the stamppot with gravy, smoked sausage, and whole grain mustard.
